E-Portfolio Help
Who am I

This link leads to your home page. This page can contain some useful information about you. Information is grouped by categories: "My abilities", "My plans", "My events", "My pages". You can add records to any group. To do this press the respective button. For example, press "Add ability" button. Ability form will appear. It contains name of your ability, Ok and Cancel buttons. Fill something in the field and press Ok. Your ability will appear in the table. You can delete it by pressing Delete link. You can create your pages in "My pages" category. To do this press "Add" and create your page.

List of portfolios

Here you can see list of classes. By clicking on class item you can see students in it. By clicking on students name you can see student home page ("Who am I"). Additional menu will appear, use it to view students portfolio, blog or to write a message to student. Teacher can add students from registered users to his class. If you're not a student you can send a message (email) to inform that you would like to become a student or (in case it’s allowed) make yourself student without assistance administrator.

Assets

This is the main feature of the E-portfolio component. After clicking on this link you will see your portfolio. It is empty at default. You can perform the following operations with it - create and modify some directories, upload and share files.

  • Create directory. Click on "Add Subdirectory" button. Directory creation form will appear. Here fill in directory name and short description. Click on Ok button. New directory will appear in your portfolio. Highlight this directory using cursor (use Up and Down keys on your keyboard or mouse). Click on Enter button on keyboard or double click mouse button. Directory will open and you will see its content. It is empty, so you can upload some files.
  • Upload file. Click on "Upload File" button. New form will appear. Select file which you want to upload from your PC, then fill in Title and Keywords fields. Confirm that file is legal to upload via checkbox. Click on Ok button. The file will then be uploaded to your portfolio.
  • Delete file. Highlight file using cursor (use Up and Down keys on your keyboard or mouse). Select file you wish to delete. Click on Delete button. Confirm that you really want to delete the file.
  • Delete Highlight directory using cursor (use Up and Down keys on your keyboard). Select folder you wish to delete. Click on Delete button. Confirm that you really want to delete the directory.
  • Replace file. To replace a uploaded file with its new version press "Replace file". Fill in the form that will appear and press "Ok".
  • Invite. To give specific rights for your files preview to certain users you can add these users to a group of invited users. To do this press "Invite" button. Invitation form will appear. To invite registered user select him from list of users and press "Invite selected". In result invitation email will be sent to selected user (users). Also you can send email with invitation to register on site to users who are not registered yet.
Also you can place your links on this page. Links should start with "http://", "https://" or "ftp://" To add links use the same actions as for abilities, plans, etc.



Blog

Here you can carry your blog and view your friends blogs. You can add, remove, archive blog posts. You can get latest blog posts of other users using link "RSS feed" in their blog. You can mark any registered user as your friend. User-friend can post in Friends blogs.

Calendar

Here teacher and students can place their announcements for certain data or period.

Forum

The E-Portfolio forum that is based on Joomlaboard Forum 1.1.3. It is available for (- can be accessed by) registered users only.

General information

To view file just download it by pressing "Download file".

Only published items (files, plans, pages, blog posts, etc) are shown and available for viewing to other users.

Messages

Teacher can write message to students. To do this select student in class and press "Message to" additional menu item.

Comments

Teacher can also make comments on students files. To do this select file in students portfolio and press "Add comment".
